Environmental & Nesting Season Coordinator
Job Description
A seasonal contract running with the nesting calendar: set the exclusion mapping before the first crews go out in April, hold it through the hatching runs, and close the season with the impact reporting our municipal and hotel clients rely on.
What you will do
- Set and review seasonal exclusion mapping for the nesting beaches with Akamas conservation contacts.
- Define per-beach method statements — where machines may work, where clearance stays hand-only.
- Maintain waste stream records by material and destination, and produce the end-of-season client impact report.
- Deliver the environmental module of crew induction each April and refresh it at the June intake.
- Handle site documentation and correspondence with the Polis Chrysochous and Peyia municipalities.
What we are looking for
- Degree or equivalent experience in environmental science, marine biology, coastal management or a related field.
- Working knowledge of Mediterranean coastal habitats; familiarity with Caretta caretta and Chelonia mydas nesting is a strong advantage.
- Confident written English for reporting; Greek is an advantage for municipal correspondence.
- Comfortable spending part of every week on the beach, not only at a desk.
Good to know
- Season: 1 April – 31 October
- Department: Environment & Compliance
- Open to non-EU nationals — we sponsor the Cyprus seasonal work permit
