On the basis of the decision of the director of KBC Rijeka, associate professor prim.dr.sc. Alemke Brnčić-Fischer, MD, as of June 1, 2026, will be announced;

COMPETITION

for employment for a fixed period of time

Molecular biologist - 3 executors

(1 executor for the needs of the Clinical Institute for Pathology and Cytology and 2 executors for the needs of the Clinical Institute for Clinical Microbiology)

Conditions:

  • VSS
  • mag.biol., mag.biol.exp.

With the tender application, it is necessary to attach;

  • application and CV
  • a copy of the Diploma on acquired education
  • work experience certificate (HZMO electronic record of work experience)
  • proof of citizenship
  • certificate from the competent court that no criminal proceedings are being conducted against the candidate (certificate not older than three months)

The employment relationship is based on a certain period of time due to the replacement of a temporarily absent employee, with the condition of trial work.

Rijeka Clinical Hospital Center reserves the right to additional tests.

According to the Law on Gender Equality (OG 82/08, 125/11, 20/12, 138/12, 69/17), people of both sexes can apply for the competition.

Candidate applications must be submitted within 8 days from the announcement of the competition in the Official Gazette to the address: Klinički bolnički centar Rijeka, Rijeka, Krešimirova 42, in writing or in person at the KBC Rijeka Office (ground floor of the Directorate building).

Persons who, according to special regulations, exercise the right of priority in employment, must refer to that right in their application, attach to the application evidence that shows the basis for exercising the right of priority, and all prescribed documentation according to the special law.

Persons referred to in Article 102, paragraphs 1-3 are invited. of the Act on the Rights of Croatian Veterans of the Homeland War and Members of Their Families (Official Gazette 121/17, 98/19, 84/21) to submit evidence from Article 103, Paragraph 1 of the same Act for the purpose of exercising the right to priority in employment.

Candidates who receive an employment advantage in accordance with Article 48 of the Act on Civilian Victims of the Homeland War (Official Gazette 84/21) are invited to submit evidence from Article 49 of the said Act for the purpose of obtaining an employment advantage.

Applicants who refer to the right of preference in employment in accordance with the Act on Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities (Official Gazette 157/13, 152/14, 38/18, 32/20), are required to refer to Art. 9 of the same Act, and together with the evidence of fulfillment of the conditions from the tender, attach evidence of the recognized status of a person with a disability in accordance with the Ordinance on the content and method of keeping the register of employed persons with disabilities (Official Gazette 75/18).

Job description:

handling of materials, samples for analysis (peripheral blood, lymph node, sesen) isolation of nucleic acids (DNA) from samples for analysis and storage of isolates application of molecular biological work methods (checking of isolated nucleic acids: measurement of concentration and purity), PCR methods: PCR-SSP, PCR-SSO Luminex, Real time qPCR, sequencing with Oxford nanopore technology keeping daily records of work by entering into KBC's IT system using Microsoft PC platform and software tools for processing of data related to individual devices, planning the purchase of reagents and taking care of device maintenance (services and calibrations), managing the quality control of work in the laboratory, performing work on standby, performing other tasks within the scope of his work and by order of his immediate superior, he is responsible for the timely delivery of work authorization/renewal of work authorization to the service responsible for personnel affairs, if the same is a prerequisite for work
