Paglalarawan ng Trabaho

Seven months outdoors on our Overijssel grassland, running the rotational grazing block that keeps our cows at grass an average of 182 days a year.

What you will do

  • Set up and move the strip fences so cows enter each paddock at the right cover and leave a clean residual
  • Walk and plate-meter the grazing platform weekly and feed the figures into the grass wedge
  • Fetch and return the herd for both milkings, at cow pace, on tracks you help keep sound
  • Check water troughs, fence lines and gates daily across roughly 90 hectares
  • Work with the farm manager on when to shut up paddocks for silage and when to buffer feed in a dry July

What we are looking for

  • Happy working outside in Dutch weather from April through to the October housing date
  • Practical fencing skills, or the willingness to learn them properly in your first fortnight
  • An eye for grass — or the interest to develop one; we will teach the measuring
  • Quad or tractor experience useful; licences and training provided
  • Non-EU applicants welcome — the seasonal work permit is sponsored and filed by our office

Good to know

  • Season: Grazing season — April to October
  • Department: Grazing
  • Open to non-EU nationals — we sponsor the seasonal work permit
