AGO Office: Backend Developer

For our client, an international reference in the field of high-tech coating systems, we are looking for a Backend Developer with an entrepreneurial mindset. In this role you help build the foundations of an innovative software platform that collects and analyzes data from complex industrial environments. You work in a young, growing software department that works with the latest technologies and where your input has a direct effect on the machines of the future.

• Design, develop and maintain crucial backend modules for the software platform
• Developing applications for real-time control and data acquisition of complex coating machines
• Implement advanced data logging and long-term storage via time-series optimization
• Act as the indispensable link between the technical machine application and the core activities of engineering and software development
• Collaborate with various stakeholders, cross-functional teams and subcontractors to technically translate customer needs
• Occasional international travel to visit customers and gain in-depth insight into the use of the software in practice

Your Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain crucial backend modules for the software platform
• Develop applications for real-time control and data acquisition of complex coating machines
• Implement advanced data logging and long-term storage using time-series optimization
• Act as the essential link between technical machine applications and core engineering/software development activities
• Collaborate with various stakeholders, cross-functional team members, and subcontractors to translate customer needs into technical solutions
• Occasionally travel internationally to meet customers and gain deep insights into how the software is used in practice
• YOU LIVE AT A MAXIMUM 30 MINUTES FROM GHENT
• You have a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent technical field
• Strong knowledge of C# and .NET Core is essential
• You are familiar with or have a great interest in:
• ASP.NET and modern API architecture
• PostgreSQL and TimescaleDB
• REST, gRPC and HTTP based communication
• OAuth and authentication protocols
• CI/CD, Git, Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience in backend development is an asset, but driven school leavers are also very welcome
• Analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex, industrial problems
• Independent, organized and strong communicator in a cross-functional environment
• Fluent command of English (oral and written)
• Affinity with industrial environments and mechanical engineering is a big plus

• You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent technical field
• Strong knowledge of C# and .NET Core is essential
• You are familiar with or have a strong interest in:

• OAuth and authentication protocols
• CI/CD, Git, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Experience in backend development is a plus, but motivated graduates are also very welcome to apply

• Self-organized and comfortable working in cross-functional teams
• Fluent in English (both written and spoken)
• Affinity with industrial/technical environments and machine building is a significant advantage
