Job Description

We are looking for a results-oriented quality engineer to manage strategic improvement projects. This position provides liaison between operations, quality and external suppliers.

You will be responsible for industrializing new coatings innovations, developing supplier quality, and overseeing a major overhaul of our continuous inspection systems (WIS) across all of our production lines.

Your main responsibilities:

• Lead the quality assurance strategy for major projects and new product launches. You are responsible for ensuring flawless industrialization from a quality point of view, managing risks during production ramp-ups and quickly resolving technical problems.

• Lead the strategic redesign and standardization of continuous inspection systems across the factory. You will be responsible for the roadmap for technology upgrade and optimization of defect detection standards, and ensure that these systems are fully integrated into operational processes and used to collect quality data to take corrective action.

• Drive high-impact continuous improvement initiatives using Six Sigma (DMAIC) methodology. Your role is to leverage data to define improvements, projects and actions to take on our assets in order to improve quality, production and reduce waste.

• Improve raw material quality standards by establishing data-driven specifications with your key strategic partners. You will leverage the statistical analysis of our Web Inspection Systems (WIS) and will correlate internal detection data with the quality of incoming materials, to ensure that supplier specifications are scientifically defined and fully aligned with our process capabilities.

Qualifications

Your profile:

• You have a bac+3 or bac+5 degree in chemical or mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or equivalent.

• You have a minimum of 2 to 3 years of successful experience in a similar position, ideally in the paper, film or packaging manufacturing sector. Experience in direct contact with customers and/or suppliers is an asset, as is experience using online automatic measurement and detection systems.

• You have solid knowledge of quality tools (FMEA, statistical process control, etc.)

• You can extract, manipulate and analyze data using trend tracking tools, Pareto charts and statistical tools.

• You have strong project management skills.

• You know how to work independently, you have an analytical mind and have the ability to solve problems.

• You work and collaborate transversally with the production, maintenance and R&D teams.

• You have a very good level of French and English (written and oral), any other language is an asset
