Are you technically minded and enjoy working with patients?

Section for Clinical Neurophysiology - Department of Neurology, is looking for a neurophysiology technician to start on 15 August 2026, or by agreement.

We are looking for you with a particular interest in the use of medical technical equipment and neurophysiological methods. The section has 10 medical positions and 13 neurophysiology technicians spread over two locations (Rikshospitalet and Ullevål) where the employees form part of a rotation to work at both locations. The neurophysiology technicians have different educations and backgrounds. People with a bachelor's or master's degree in health are encouraged to apply.

This position is primarily intended to contribute with research work in a new sleep study that will start over the summer. It involves being on night duty during the sleep examination called polysomnography (PSG). You will receive training in attaching the sleep equipment, and being able to see sources of error in the sleep recording. The position may have the opportunity to increase the vacancy rate, and for other/more work beyond the autumn.

Interviews can be carried out continuously even if the application deadline has not expired.

Tasks What does a working day look like?

  • Mainly being on night duty and fixing on/off polysomnography (PSG) equipment, and observing that the examination is of good quality.

The scholarship can be extended to contribute with:

  • Carrying out neurophysiological examinations such as EEG, evoked response examinations, sleep examinations, functional testing of the autonomic nervous system and neurography on both adults and children
  • Interaction with patients and other departments/hospitals via telephone and other digital channels
  • Carry out coordinator tasks such as planning patient activity, including scheduling, sending digital letters, forms and other things to patients
  • Participate in the department's research projects
  • Participate in the department's other routines together with other subject groups, including internal teaching.
  • Develop and maintain procedures, as well as update and maintain quality registers
  • Participation in the department's on-call scheme

Qualifications In order to enjoy working with us, we are looking for you who have the following qualifications:

  • Health professional background or other relevant professional background at either bachelor's or master's level
  • Experience with follow-up of patients with special needs is a plus
  • Experience with the use of medical technical equipment or neurophysiology is desired, but not a requirement
  • Experience from the development of procedures is desirable
  • Experience with sampling is desirable, but not a requirement.
  • Experience from participation in research and/or quality work is desirable
  • Technical experience/education in addition to health-related education is a big plus
  • Good communication skills in Norwegian
