Workers in the field of personal health care not specified elsewhere

Responsible for:

• ensure the spread of elementary health education in the disadvantaged Roma community - in segregated and separated Roma settlements and localities;

• ensure and facilitate communication between residents of segregated and separated Roma settlements and localities and doctors, nurses, or midwives, public health workers. Spread elementary health education and inform in the community.

• support community access to health care: provide information on prevention, provision of health care and health insurance, and patient and insured rights;

• participate in the application of health promotion programs to the community according to the coordinator's instructions;

• support increasing the responsibility of community members for their own health;

• cooperate with the coordinator in identifying risk factors and needs related to the health of the disadvantaged community, data collection (surveys of health status and health awareness);

• to cooperate in the exchange of information and experience with field social workers, with Roma teacher assistants, with regional offices of the Office of the Plenipotentiary of the Government of the Slovak Republic for Roma communities, non-governmental organizations aimed at helping disadvantaged Roma communities and all relevant institutions located in the vicinity of the health support assistant locations and participating in solving social problems of disadvantaged population groups (ÚPSVaR, Social insurance company, municipalities, primary and kindergarten schools, health insurance companies). If necessary, he addresses and asks for help and cooperation from members of the Internal Security Service of the Slovak Republic, Ministry of Justice, etc.

• participate in training aimed at expanding knowledge and skills related to the job;

• keep records of your activities;

• ensure the collection of data for the purpose of monitoring and improving the health situation in the locality

In the field of health, APZ can perform the following actions, or interventions:

• helping doctors with preventive examinations and compulsory vaccination of children and adults, personal participation in vaccination if necessary;

• provision of first aid, summoning of first aid, cooperation in providing information;

• prescription of medicines (medical supplies) from the doctor, selection of medicines from the pharmacy, instructions on proper use (especially for old and severely disabled people, if necessary also for sick adults);

• pressure measurement, checking the correct use of medications, blood sugar measurement (if the client has a device), education;

• performing simple bandages after previous training with a doctor;

• explanation of medical reports to clients, ordering for specialist examinations, accompanying the client to specialist examinations, consultation with doctors regarding the client's state of health, ascertaining the state of health of a hospitalized client/child;

• assistance in preparing the insured's card, guiding the client in preparing the disability pension, in the preparation of the ZŤP card, compensations, etc.;

• educational activity in the Roma community and at school
