About the position Øst police district is looking for a committed and development-oriented employee who wants to contribute to strengthening and further developing the preventive work in the police district. As a professional and training officer within preventive services, you will have a central role in building competence, further developing professional methodology and ensuring quality in the police's preventive work.

The position is placed in the police department at the Joint Unit for Intelligence, Prevention and Investigation (FEFE). You will work closely with specialist communities and managers throughout the district, and contribute to developing knowledge-based working methods and strengthen the police's ability to prevent crime and unwanted incidents.

FEFE has overall professional, coordination and executive responsibility for intelligence, prevention and investigation in the East police district. The Police Professional Section shall contribute to the operationalization of this responsibility through method development, competence development, guidance, education, training, training and practice, as well as evaluation of and supervision of practice and compliance.

In the role, you will contribute to ensuring high quality in the preventive work through skills development, professional support and development of work processes and methodology. You will be an important promoter of learning and development, and contribute to the district working more knowledge-based, targeted and uniform within preventive services.

  • Tasks Plan, coordinate and carry out training in preventive police work
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of professional methods, routines and best practice
  • Be a professional adviser and support for managers and employees in preventive work
  • Map competence needs and contribute to systematic competence development
  • Follow up national guidelines and strategies within preventive policing
  • Contribute to development projects and professional networks within the district and nationally
  • Prepare professional guides, presentations and training material
  • Contribute to the evaluation and quality development of preventive measures
  • Other tasks assigned by manager

Qualifications You must have this to be qualified:

  • Passed education from the Norwegian Police Academy
  • Experience from preventive police work
  • Good knowledge of crime prevention methods and strategies
  • Must satisfy the requirements for security clearance and authorization for level SECRET (You can read more about security clearance on the National Security Authority's pages: https://nsm.no/fagomrader/personellsikkerhet/sikkerhetsklarering/)

It is also desirable to:

  • Experience with subject development and subject management
  • Experience with training, guidance or competence development
  • Experience from leading change and development processes
  • Good written and oral presentation skills
  • Good digital competence
  • Knowledge of the police's management systems and relevant professional tools

You must have an unblemished character and be fit for service in the police and a police certificate (exhaustive and extended) must be obtained by, if applicable. employment cf. Section 18 of the Police Act and Section 41 of the Police Register Act.
