Odda junior high school is centrally located in Eidesmoen, surrounded by the municipality's largest area for sports and games. This school year, the school has 204 wonderful young people, divided into three classes at each level. The school management consists of the headmaster, two department heads, a social worker/counselor, mercantile, health nurse and librarian.

Qualifications for the position:

  • Education and formal competence for the relevant school type, and experience from primary school is desirable.
  • Experience as a manager from school and training.
  • Further education in education/school management is a plus.
  • Experience in leading change and participation processes.
  • Knowledge of the new curriculum and the new Education Act.
  • Competence in varied working methods and forms of assessment.
  • Good understanding of economics and experience with work related to budgets and accounting.
  • Good digital skills.
  • Good communication skills both verbally and in writing.

Cancellation of education debt/student loans:

Anyone who lives in one of the 189 municipalities on Statistics Norway's centrality levels 5 and 6 can have NOK 25,000 of their education debt written off in the year from January 2026. You must have lived in one of these municipalities, and be employed, for at least one year. You will have your education debt written off every year, until the debt is paid off. The measure applies to all types of education debt, regardless of when it was taken out. A person who lives in one of these municipalities from 1 January 2025, or moves there at any time after this date, will be eligible to have his debt canceled after one year of living.
