Kitchen sous chef wanted for Grøndals Spisehus
We are looking for a committed, active and responsible sous chef for our kitchen at Grøndals Spisehus in Copenhagen NV.
We are looking for a sous chef who thrives in a busy everyday life, can create structure and at the same time ensure a good experience for both guests and employees.
About Grøndals Spisehus
Grøndals Spisehus is a modern and informal dining house located in the heart of Grøndal Multicenter. We focus on quality coffee, brunch, lunch dishes, Danish everyday food, catering and good service. We work with fresh ingredients, seasonal menus and a strong focus on quality, sustainability and community.
We have regular regulars, takeaway, meeting catering, companies and busy service periods, where overview, structure and teamwork are essential.
Your work tasks
- Assist the head chef in the day-to-day management of the kitchen
- Ensure high quality in all dishes and consistent presentation
- Monitor and coordinate daily production during service
- Plan and optimize the kitchen's workflow together with the head chef
- Handle education, training and onboarding of new kitchen staff
- Ensure compliance with food hygiene, self-control and HACCP
- Responsibility for goods receipt, stock management and correct storage
- Contribute to menu development and testing of new dishes
- Ensure efficient staffing and coordination during busy periods
- Monitor waste, product consumption and contribute to cost control
- Take the lead in daily operations and ensure high discipline and structure in the kitchen
- Support the kitchen manager in planning production and prep lists
About you
We imagine that you:
- Has experience from a professional kitchen (restaurant, cafe or similar)
- Has experience with or interest in management in a kitchen
- Works in a structured manner and maintains an overview in busy situations
- Has a high professional level and focus on quality
- Is a team player and good at motivating others
- Takes responsibility and takes the lead in operations
- Has an understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements
- Thrive in an everyday life with pace and variety
- Has English at a medium-high level, which is an advantage and a plus

Your Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in the daily management of the kitchen
- Ensure high quality and consistent presentation of all dishes
- Oversee and coordinate daily production during service
- Plan and optimize kitchen workflows together with the Head Chef
- Handle onboarding, training, and development of new kitchen staff
- Ensure compliance with food hygiene, self-inspection procedures, and HACCP standards
- Be responsible for receiving goods, inventory management, and proper storage
- Contribute to menu development and testing of new dishes
- Ensure efficient staffing and coordination during busy periods
- Monitor waste and food consumption and contribute to cost control
- Lead by example in daily operations and maintain high discipline and structure in the kitchen
- Support the Head Chef in planning production and prep lists
About You

- Have experience with or interest in kitchen leadership
- Work in a structured manner and stay organized during busy situations
- Have a high professional standard and strong focus on quality
- Are a team player and skilled at motivating others
- Take responsibility and lead from the front
- Have knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
- Thrive in a fast-paced and varied work environment
- Have intermediate to advanced English skills, which is considered an advantage
